My body froze in its place. Did someone just call me what I think they just called me? I turned my head slowly around-my heart was throbbing at a fast pace, and my ears grew red and hot-the student looked at me with curiosity.
"Your name is Spyro, isn't it?"
In fury I curled my hands into fists, and my temper was lost.
"NO!!! MY NAME IS NOT SPYRO!!!" I yelled "IT ISN'T, YOU UNDERSTAND?"
"Okay, okay. Calm down; I was just wonderin'." He left me without another word, not even an apology. I turned away, walking in the other direction still fuming.
Sure, I had an interest in the Spyro fandom and all, but that doesn't mean people have to tease me about it. Talking about it is one thing, but annoying others over it is another, and you can hardly escape.
Damn idiots. I thought, pacing back and forth. I mean, look at me-do I look like a purple dragon to you? DO I?
Still agitated, I walked back to my table and sat down. The boy's words were still ringing through my head. My life was at a dreadful turn, just when things were looking bright.
If I WAS Spyro, or any other character from the series, then I would use my powers to kick those bullies' asses.
At home I sought sanctuary in my room; needed some time to be myself for a while. I carefully shut the door behind me and sat at the foot of my bed, thinking of the pain I went through in my life.
"I-I just don't understand," I said to myself "If I already told everybody that I like the Spyro Fandom, then why do they keep teasing me about it?"
My throat grew sore and fell backwards onto the bed, a small tear rolled down my cheek-I caught it with my finger. If there was only a way to live a better life, to start over again.
As I laid in gloom and despair I began to feel hot. I ignored for a while but then grew hotter and hotter until finally, I made the urge to stand up. Sweat rolled down my face.
My arms grew itchy to the point that I needed more than two hands, and I started scratching. My nails felt something different, however; like a hard, cold, metal-like feeling. Curious, I raised my arm to my face; my eyes widening in horror at what I saw
on my ARM?"
The scales started spreading down towards my wrist-black as the deepest pit in the world-until they reached my hand. The nails cracked and lengthened into sharp, white claws, the fingers fusing into digitigrades, and padding forming underneath on my palm.
The same happened to my other arm, then the scales started spreading onto my shoulders. My heart throbbed; what was happening to me?
As I got up I felt my feet grow sore, and the toes began to bulge in my socks. The elastic soon gave way as claws shredded through them, the toes fused into three and black scales covering them. I felt padding form on the bottom as, with several cracks, my ankles slowly began to rise shifting my stance to the balls of my feet.
W-wh-what IS this? I thought, looking down at my new feet I don't even
Just then, a sickening crack was heard and I yelped in pain. My spine lost its curve as I fell on all fours. I was sweating like a naked mole rat; my chest heaving in and out with every breath I took.
I felt my spine lengthen and push at my pants. It eventually ripped out in the form of a long, serpent-like object; a tail.
" a hooked scythe grew on the tip, it looked like it could cut someone in half like butter.
My muscles started to ache and I screamed-no, I roared-at the top of my lungs. Tears streamed out.
Suddenly, I felt two bumps form on my backside and I groaned mournfully. The bumps shredded out of my t-shirt and a pair of long, scaly arms grew; the fingers lengthening and forming a red webbing, while the "thumbs" grew a similar scythe. My new wings.
I was a bit impressed, but before I could say anything, however, my head began to ache. Several small cracks could be heard as my upper jaw and nose fused and lengthened into a stubby, beaked muzzle. My blue eyes faded to an emerald green, and my eyelashes lengthened.
Bumps formed on my head as four white horns bursted through my skull, curving slightly inwards-Two smaller horns grew out of my cheeks. My dark brown hair fell out in clumps, replaced by three spikes of silver fur running down my neck.
"Make it stop! MAKE IT STOP!!" I roared; my human teeth falling out and sharp, carnivorius fangs poking through my gums. My tongue lengthened and grew pointed.
"Dear lord, What
With several cracks, my bones shifted and reorganized to fit my current stance-quadruped. My chest puffed out and my torso slimmened. My heart and lungs grew bigger, and red plates grew on my underside and chest.
Markings etched onto my face, as well as other parts of my body. Silver bracers formed on my neck, ankles, and my tail, thus finishing the change.
"What is going on with me!?" I wailed, suddenly realizing that my voice had changed, it was more high pitched like a teenage girl that had just hit puberty(ironic enough, I had hit puberty at age 12).
I lifted my paw and reached for the doorknob. Open, I gulped and stepped into the hall-my legs wobbling because I wasn't used to walking like this-I slowly stood up on my hind legs and looked in the mirror hanging on the wall. I gasped.
Cynder?" I reached my paw down between my legs and felt my crotch area. I gulped with widening eyes-yep, I was her alright-I couldn't believe it.
I fell back on all fours and stepped back into my room bewildered. I had become a dragon, but more than that, I became a dragon of the Spyro Fandom. Suddenly thoughts began to purge into my mind; evil thoughts; thoughts about how to pay back those bullies at school. A toothy grin spread across my muzzle.
"Nah." I said, jumping up onto my bed. I curled my slim, scaly body into a ball and rested my head on my forepaws. "I'll save that for another day."
Then, letting out a big, feminine yawn, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep with a lovely smile.
